There's no need to grab coffee before harnessing up for the part-zipling, part-agility Crown's Edge course. You'll be jolted awake when the floor drops from beneath your feet, leaving you dangling 154 feet above the ocean before the zipline kicks in. It wouldn't be a roundup of Icon of the Seas' best amenities without a mention of its waterpark. Ogle the tropical beauty of the 115-island archipelago of the Seychelles. Custom excursions and pre- and post-cruise tours organized by Abercrombie & Kent are available along the way (for an additional cost). Read on to discover where you can sail to in 2025 on a world cruise.

The Los Angeles-to-New York voyage visits 29 countries and 78 ports. MSC Cruises is doing something a little different with its 2025 world cruise. It's offering a choice of four embarkation ports — Rome and Genoa in Italy; Marseille, France; and Barcelona.

In addition, we have expanded the parameters of the list to include not only the hotels and cruises you’ve seen in previous years, but also the locations that we hold dear. This year, our editors will be working in locations ranging from California to Beijing. The Gold List is compiled by humans for other humans, which is something that is required now more than it has ever been in the past.

News and World Report, Disney Cruise Line accounts for having approximately one crew member for every three passengers, no matter the vessel size. The cruise line currently has three ships and operates as an adults-only experience. News and World Report, Virgin Voyages ranked as the No. 1 best cruise line for money.

Silver Endeavour – Silversea

These include an increased amount of space as well as amenities, as well as posh private restaurants and a lounge, and outstanding service. The Carinthia Lounge is frequented by young people who enjoy listening to jazz, while the Golden Lion English pub is usually bustling with activity. Here, the fish and chips are extra-crispy, and the beer is served on tap. The world’s largest sailing ship is a dream come true for those who appreciate the sight of 26,881 square feet of Dacron unfurling and catching wind. The 342-passenger, 525-foot Wind Surf delivers a sense of pride, especially when you’re in port and you point to your ship’s five masts, to envious sighs of your new friends.

But during my three days on Icon, I returned to the centrally located space more often than expected. Plenty of family-friendly cruise ships have waterslides, but few have six — or even one that requires a multi-person raft. The 1,196-foot-long, 20-deck Icon of the Seas is packed with bars, restaurants, and things to do. Any shorter of an itinerary, and you might not have time to experience all it has to offer.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ ”Seven Seas Splendor”

So go ahead and dream a little, because anything is possible when you sail with the best cruise line in the world Royal Caribbean®. Cruises are booming right now, buoyed partly by the popularity of domestic seacations that hauled in first-time sailors. So much so that Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ 34,000-mile world trip for 2024 sold out in just over two hours, while the adults-only Virgin Voyages, which aims to throw cruise stereotypes overboard, rose to first place in Large Ships. And we’ve brought back last year's new category showcasing the expedition cruises – small, often sustainable vessels with a shoal of scientific experts onboard – that follow in the wake of adventurers such as Sir Ernest Shackleton. French line Ponant’s Le Commandant Charcot is the world’s most luxurious icebreaker—and one of the best cruise ships in the world.

Oceania Cruises' Marina is one of 12 ships chosen by our editors for 2024. The very qualities that make a place attractive to holidaymakers – unspoiled beauty, peace, local interest and a strong sense of place – are eroded, inevitably, by holidaymakers. MSC World America and Icon of the Seas, in particular, have several similarities, including public area venues segmented into "districts," as MSC Cruises calls them. All three of the vessels will be the biggest in their respective fleets. As part of the announcement, MSC Cruises confirmed that its soon-to-debut MSC World America would sail from Miami from April 2025 through at least October 2025. This will place it in a head-to-head matchup with Royal Caribbean's just-unveiled Icon of the Seas and Carnival Cruise Line's one-year-old Carnival Celebration.

This edition's curated collection of the best new cruises something for everyone, from expedition ships that up passengers’ access to places like Greenland and Antarctica, to an exciting new small-ship circuit of the Mediterranean. There are brand-new and classic options alike—from a luxe Nile River option to leisurely routes in the Caribbean. MSC World America will also have six pools and 14 hot tubs, making it one of the most pool-covered ships at sea. Dating to November 2022, Carnival Celebration is the world's 14th biggest cruise ship. Fast-growing MSC Cruises on Thursday officially announced its North America schedule for the summer of 2025, including a Miami deployment that will set the stage for an epic matchup between three of the world's biggest cruise vessels.

As a bonus, most of these around-the-world voyages include enviable perks, like pre-cruise hotel stays, alcohol, shipboard credit, exclusive-access shore excursions — and, yes, laundry service. Travelers on Oceania's 180-day round-trip cruise from Los Angeles to New York aboard the Insignia will see some of the world's most impressive sights. Highlights include stops in stunning French Polynesia, Indonesia, Thailand, Egypt, Spain, France, and Iceland. Whether you’re chasing adrenaline on the tallest slide at sea, tasting your way from Italy to Wonderland, or lounging the day away as you sail from one exotic shore to the next — there’s no shortage of ways to pass the time on these decked-out top-rated cruises. At the heart of every great vacation is incredible service, and that’s exactly what you’ll enjoy on our award winning cruises. This is your getaway, and there’s no idea or request too big or small for our dedicated staff.

Named the best small-ship ocean cruise line in T+L's 2022 World's Best Awards, Golden said the line is known for Tahitian-inspired massage techniques in the onboard spa and noted that cruisers particularly love the wonderful staff. Whether it's a river or an ocean you want to cruise, Scenic can take you there in style. The luxury cruise line operates river cruises in Europe and Asia, while ocean cruises on Scenic Eclipse (and the forthcoming Scenic Eclipse II) can take guests to Antarctica, the Arctic, Australia, South America, and Greenland, among other coveted destinations. On board, you'll find fine dining, expansive spas and fitness facilities, and butler service.

And then there’s the 2,500-piece art collection that cost $7 million, which allows passengers to stand with a martini in hand just inches from Picasso’s Le Taureau Noir; Sunday brunch at Compass Rose is for scoring no-one’s-counting caviar-topped blini. In the year 2024, the ship will cruise from Miami to the Mediterranean Sea with stops at Jerusalem’s Dome of the Rock, which dates back to the seventh century and is a highlight of Israel regardless of how you go there. Oceania Cruises has just seven ships, but the debut of the brand-new Oceania Vista catapults this cruise line into the luxury division. The cruise line's relatively new Go Local shore excursions for small groups bring travelers to under-the-radar destinations, T+L contributing editor and long-time cruiser Sarah Greaves-Gabbadon reported recently. Her 2022 cruise on Riviera included 70 excursions "from canoeing Croatia’s Cetina River to cooking classes in Athens." Dazzling entertainment, palate pleasing dining, sensational spa services and luxury that takes your getaway from first class to world class – onboard these award-winning cruise ships, every experience exceeds expectations.

Guests onboard are treated to fine French cuisine (Alain Ducasse is the culinary adviser) and wine, as well as plush cabins and suites with balconies or terraces. They can watch icebergs and polar bears passing by from the serenity of the heated pools on the sides of the ship that are heated by recycled energy from the ship’s propulsion. Inside, there’s another heated pool and a spa with a snow room and sauna, where therapists serve up massages using natural and eco-friendly products.

Dining is complimentary at restaurants including a Korean BBQ spot complete with drinking games, and a chef’s-gone-wild venue where dishes may arrive smoking or popping. Virgin encourages donations to marine conservation, sources sustainable seafood, and bans most single-use plastics; plus, heat from the ship’s engines generates some electricity (decreasing fuel demand). The MSC Poesia will take guests to 56 destinations on this 120-day cruise starting in Rome.

Among the standout features planned for MSC World America will be an Aquapark with multiple waterslides that integrate virtual reality technology. MSC Cruises also announced last week that the ship would have what's billed as the only overwater swing ride at sea; the attraction is called Cliffhanger, and it's suspended 160 feet above the water. Both ships have been designed around a central interior promenade with entertainment, shops and bars. Carnival Celebration will mostly sail to Eastern Caribbean destinations such as St. Thomas, San Juan and Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic. Icon of the Seas will rotate among four different itineraries across the Eastern and Western Caribbean that bring visits to such destinations as St. Thomas; St. Maarten (the Dutch side of the island of St. Martin); Roatan; and Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico. While I would've preferred a quieter atmosphere (the DJ did not, in fact, play smooth jazz), the pool's views, day beds, and lack of screaming children were hard to beat.
